Tokyo, Japan

“Our creativity is always based on one big rule: creating visual arts using common objects. It’s like always experimenting with something from a different point of view. We think that even fallen leaves have artistic possibilities if we look at them carefully.”

About:

“A fantasy in life” is the mission of this Japanese group of artists, who are continuously searching for the possibilities in the world of visual arts that can bring about this ideal. The group presently comprises some 10 artists from various backgrounds.

Agency Survival Kits

Agency Survival Kits
By Phoenix The Creative Studio (CANADA)
Advertising agencies frequently deal with little disasters that, more often than not, could be avoided or at least contained. Overtime, a power outage or a surprise presentation… Which is why Phoenix, the Creative Studio, decided to create a collection of survival kits to help agencies get through these kinds of situations. We can also help you with your design, marketing and web development needs. I guess you could say that we are the survival kit to making your projects successful.

7 Gorgeous Handmade Books

E-books may be more popular than ever, but makers and writers of printed books aren't going down without a fight. We've seen beautiful sculptures made out of stacks of books, and intricate designs carved within worn classics (not to mention a few book crafts gone wrong).
Of course, the book-as-object is nothing new - early Bibles were covered in gold brocade, after all. But book art is a medium that is constantly changing, and we think the latest additions are spectacular.
"500 Handmade Books Volume 2" includes stories etched on thin-as-tissue paper, sewn together weigh thread, and penned on curling scrolls. Check it out:

Glorious Gradients

Glorious Gradients

Each week we bring you a trio of Good Things in art and design, chosen from the infinite creative archives of Present & Correct
—  —

As winter fades into spring, Good Things celebrates the contours of colour with some wonderful gradients

Trends come and trends go, but it seems like the gradient is here to stay. That’s fine with us because you can do endless fun things with it. This week we have rounded up some favourite uses of ombré. And for those of you who aren’t sure how to create a gradient simply go to We Will Attack. Click and drag for maximum effect.

The sky is a gradient we all experience daily, ever changing and readily available. It has been captured beautifully by Eric Cahan in his series which you can see here.

Scandinavian duo Inka & Niclas applied gradients to rocks. We’re not sure how and to be honest it doesn’t matter. Look how pretty they are.
