An innovative biodegradable chair constructed out of layers of stratum of coir, or coconut fibres, was designed by Dutch designer Jorrit Taekema.
The material is made only from this natural composite, which is a byproduct of the food industry. The coconut fibres are combined with latex to form a resilient chair that is sustainable in design.
Not sure about comfort, but at least the Layer chair is sustainable in design.
